Napping
Henry has been sleeping really well at night. But when we are home and I am trying to get stuff done around the house he doesn't want to cooperate. After he eats sometimes he falls asleep right away and I put him down in his crib and he wakes up soon after. At night I swaddle him which is what keeps him sleeping so well. But in the day when I try to swaddle him he hates it. Do they get better about napping? Should I be doing something different?
Scheduling
I'm also wondering if I should try and start to get him on more of a schedule? As returning to work soon approaches I am getting nervous about how someone else will manage watching him throughout the day if he is not on a schedule. Also I am curious about how pumping and nursing while back at work works best?
To all the mom's out there any expertise you can share with me.
So I found your blog finally!! And I am super flippin excited!!
ReplyDeleteSaw no one answered your questions...hoping you got it all squared away but if not...
Naps and Schedules fit in the same book for me. Sometimes you have to play battle of the wills right at first, but the way we do it at Kim's daycare and it works really well for the infants is aprrox:
7ish bottles
play
8-9am food (if needed)
Play
Mid morning - nap (some do some dont.)
1130ish wake up
noon eat
play
1-130 lay down for a long nap
3-4 (depending on the day) Wake up
Snack and play
For me personally, Lucas napped after lunch until he was about 2 then it was a lost cause.
I hope everything is going so well for you! He is perfect and I love him so much already!! I love you too mama!! :)
Thank you Steph for your words of wisdom. Its funny cause I have just let him do what is natural to him and he is almost identical to your schedule above give or take a half an hour or so.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you for Thanksgiving.
