You can begin to see some progress on the yard now. We put pavers in the front and backyards. You can also see our fire pit beginning to form. Can't wait to sit by the fire pit with a glass of wine.

Today was a big football day. Our poor child is going to be so confused and what know what team he should root for. Unfortunately I have a feeling it's going to be Penn State because he loves the fight song. Every time he is fussy Ryan pulls up this video on youtube and Henry is as content as ever...

This is a video of us trying to capture Henry's giggle but he never does it for the camera. He laughs hysterically when you bite on his legs. You can tell he is still into his screamy phase.
Thursday, September 8th
This was a first. The San Diego black out. I was at work pumping in the locker room when all the lights went out. I had to finish in the dark and was thinking what kinda mean joke. Then I realized all the lights were out. I said 'see ya' and headed home since I couldn't work anymore.
I sent Ryan to the store to get ice so all of our freezer items wouldn't go bad. He had the funniest experience it was like the world was ending. He went to a few stores with no luck on the ice. Finally went to Stater Bros. where there was no lights. He was using his phone for a light. At first they didn't have ice so Ryan got a bunch of frozen juices to help keep the fridge cool (smart!). But then they had block ice. Ryan bought a ton and a ton of tall white candles. When he was leaving the store people were waiting outside (because the store had closed) screaming "he's got ice, he's got ice." People were going crazy.
It was a pretty fun night. We listened to the radio on the computer all night, I cooked dinner in the dark, and Henry got a bath in the dark. None of the pictures really do it justice because of the flash. Nana Jeanne was watching Henry that day so she stayed to hang out with us in the dark. I said we should do this more often. Turn off all of the electronic items and just hang out. Maybe we'll start a 'no electricity' night in our house, except for a fan or two.

Friday, September 9th - Sunday September 11th
Henry went on his first plane ride. It was my Grandma Rische's (Mom's Mom) 80th birthday and we went to Kerrville, Tx to surprise her. Henry did amazingly well on the trip out there. Slept most of the time. We traveled with Mom, Dad and Randi which was huge help.
On Friday we surprised Grandma at a restaurant. It was Our family, my Aunt Kathy & Uncle Dave, their friends, Grandma's brother and wife, and Grandma's very best friend that she hadn't seen in 10 years. She was so surprised. On Saturday, all the siblings threw her a surprise party at our hotel with all her friends from church and around town. It was very nice and I could tell she had a wonderful time. We spent some time at her house later that night. That's where Henry got to feed the goats, while I freaked out that they were going to eat him. On Sunday we headed back home on the plane. Henry did really great again, it was a bit harder the second time but considering all the traveling he did really well.
