Happy Mother's Day to Me - Week 3

It's only been three weeks but it feels like we have always had the little guy around. I can't imagine a time when he wasn't here. He is getting bigger and bigger (I guess I am doing my job) and he is becoming more and more alert throughout the day. We still can't wait for that first real smile and laugh. He smiles and kinda giggles in his sleep sometimes and it's probably the cutest thing EVER.

We had a very exciting week lots happened. Mom and Dad finally got out of the house with the little guy, which made us feel like normal humans again. 

First we need to back up a few days because I forgot to post the most hysterical video of Henry. We got on tape his exploding pants trick. This happened on Saturday night at my parent's house when Grandpa Dan was in town. The voice in the background is Auntie Des and Uncle Roger. (Listen around 10 sec. in)

Friday, May 6th

Auntie Alyssa made this awesome shirt for Henry. Like father like son. The onesie will have to do until Henry is old enough for the real thing...ha ha.

You will notice we have a lot of random pictures of Henry just sleeping or chillin'. These photos are most likely from our phones because the grandparents have requested daily photos of Henry. So we try our best to capture his sweetness daily and send it off to all the grandparents.

Saturday, May 7th

Ryan and I have started going on daily walks around the neighborhood. One to walk our crazy dogs who at 6.00pm on the dot start fighting and chasing each other like mad dogs. We have to walk them for a good long walk to get them to calm down. And secondly to get out of the house at least once a day. It was a little cold last weekend so Henry needed to bundle up.

Sunday, May 8th

Happy Mother's Day. Thank you to all the family and friends that sent their love and warm wishes my way for my first mother's day. Ryan made we a yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon, birds in a basket (eggs in toast), and mimosas. Henry got me some Tom shoes and a beautiful orchid. It was a very nice day full of lots of time with my two men. I couldn't ask for anything more. It is such an honor and a pleasure to have been chosen to not only be Henry's mom but Ryan's wife. It's the best decision I ever made and I love every moment of it. And I can't wait to be the very best mom to Henry.

Monday, May 9th

We had Henry's first pictures taken on Monday. Hillary did them again, she also took our prego pictures. We had so much fun. Henry didn't love being naked. But Hillary took amazing photos. I cannot thank her enough for her work. She is amazing. Not only does she take great photos, but she is fun and easy going. And even my husband doesn't mind taking photos with her because she makes it so easy. If you are looking for someone to take photos of you call Hillary!!! There are some amazing shots of Henry. She really captured his sweetness. I love that she took them in our house too because it makes it even more special to our family.

Tuesday, May 10th

Henry and I had a really fun day. It was another bath day and he did much better. I think he actually liked it. Every time I put him into his bath he automatically pees. Must be a reaction to the warm water.

Wednesday, May 11th

Henry had his two week check up. It was a weight check to make sure he was continuing to gain weight. At his last appointment at 4 days old he weighed 7.6 and was 21.5in long. At this weigh in he was 9.4 and was 22.5in long. He gained almost two whole pounds. Ryan and I were very excited that he was growing. Me probably more than anyone because as a breastfeeding mom, you are constantly wondering if your baby is getting enough. Obviously Henry is! We googled it and that puts him in the 95th percentile. Funny enough his head was 14in round and that is only in the 75th percentile for his age. I was very excited that his head wasn't in the 95th percentile...

Thursday, May 12th

Ryan's cousin Christy was in town from Pittsburg. She was celebrating her 30th birthday by coming to San Diego with a group of friends and they went skydiving. It was first time meeting her. This is Jeanne's brother's daughter. She was awesome. We all spent the afternoon together and had a great time. We took Henry to the Carlsbad beach for the first time and went for a stroll along the seawall. We also spent some time on our tummys. Check out how strong Henry is.

Friday, May 13th

Grandma Jeanne was in town for a few days and let me do a little bit of shopping. I picked up a little gift for Ryan that he wanted for Henry. This is the outcome of that purchase.

Saturday, May 14th

Today is Clementine's First Birthday. Happy Birthday Clemie!

Ryan had SWAT training all day so Henry and I went to my parents for the day. Since Henry was going to be with his Aunt for the day he wanted to represent.

What a long post. I know I need to be posting more like everyday but I have a newborn and that is highly unlikely. We will keep you posted on all things Henry.
